And that volunteering added £4.6 billion in productivity gains to the UK economy in 2024.
This June will see the 41st year of Volunteers Week. A time when the nation will come together to celebrate these incredible individuals through a variety of events like parties and award ceremonies to express gratitude to those who give selflessly to help others.
Here at Advocacy North East, we too, will be singing the praises of our volunteers. A diverse group of people who quietly, yet generously, gift their time in support of our organisation and its aims.
From our IT consultant to community advocates, board members to first visit supporters – all have one thing in common, they are volunteers!
The contribution made by ANE volunteers provides for our governance and builds upon our capacity. It enriches our organisation and our community.
As Volunteers Week approaches, ANE is taking the opportunity of this dedicated time to celebrate, recognise and thank our volunteers for the invaluable contributions they make to our organisation.
