Independent Advocacy – A Voice For Choice
Volunteering in the third sector offers a number of benefits including the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people and the chance to make a difference to society.
If you are passionate about social justice, equal opportunities and inclusion then we have just the role for you!
Established more than 25 years, Advocacy North East is a local, rights based, independent advocacy organisation serving local people in communities throughout Aberdeenshire and in the Royal Cornhill Hospital Aberdeen.
Independent advocacy is a way to help people have a stronger voice and to have as much control as possible over their own lives.
We are currently looking to recruit volunteer Community Advocates in all areas of Aberdeenshire. With your help we can reach and support people in our community who may find themselves at risk of being marginalised or excluded due to ill-health or disability – and need independent advocacy to assert their rights.
We will provide training in Core Advocacy Skills so you will feel well informed, able and confident before you start. We will follow this up with a continuing programme of training and mentoring to support you to develop in your role. You will become a member of our well respected, effective and professional independent advocacy team.
