Volunteers’ Week returns again this year for its 42nd year which runs from Monday 1st to Sunday 7th June 2026, a time when thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognise the contribution volunteers make across the UK. Each year this week gives us all an opportunity to recognise and thank everyone who gives their time, energy and skills to help others and to celebrate the spirit of volunteering that enriches our communities.
Advocacy North East is delighted to take this special opportunity to thank all volunteers, past and present, for giving up their time and skills to help others in their communities and to celebrate just how vital they are throughout the ‘Shire.
We have so many wonderful volunteers who are passionate about the principles of independent advocacy. From community advocates who support those who may be unable to speak for themselves, to community advocacy supporters who promote the service. Volunteers who help us with IT matters and board members too. A diverse group of people who quietly, yet so very generously, gift their time in support of our organisation and its aims.
Diverse they may be, but they all have one thing in common, they approach their work with enthusiasm and energy and make an invaluable contribution to Advocacy North East and its beneficiaries. So, as we approach Volunteers’ Week, we would like to take this opportunity to celebrate, recognise and thank all our volunteers.
